Copyright & Reuse Policy

Overview

All original content published on RealIssuesPodcast.org, RealHousingReform.org, and affiliated platforms (collectively, “Real Issues Media”) is protected under U.S. and international copyright law. This includes — but is not limited to — written articles, blog posts, reports, graphics, photographs, videos, podcasts, infographics, maps, charts, data compilations, and all related materials.

Unless otherwise indicated, copyright is owned by Real Issues Media and its parent organization, Real Housing Reform Initiative.

We welcome the sharing of our work in ways that promote transparency, accountability, and education — provided it is done with proper attribution and without alteration or commercial misuse.

 

Permitted Uses

You may:

  • Quote short excerpts (up to 100 words) from our articles for commentary, academic citation, or media coverage, with clear attribution and a visible link to the original page.

  • Share direct links to our pages or posts through email, social media, or messaging platforms.

  • Embed our public videos, podcast episodes, or infographics using the official embed or share tools provided.

Example attribution format:

“Source: Real Issues Podcast, ‘[Title of Article]’ (RealIssuesPodcast.org), © 2025 Real Housing Reform Initiative.”

 

Restricted Uses

You may not:

  • Copy, reproduce, republish, upload, post, transmit, or distribute our materials in full or in part without prior written permission.

  • Edit, alter, remix, or rebrand our content — including removing logos, attributions, or watermarks.

  • Use our content for commercial purposes, resale, or advertising without express authorization.

  • Automate scraping or bulk download of articles, maps, or datasets from our sites.

Violations of this policy may result in legal action under the U.S. Copyright Act (Title 17, U.S. Code).

Except where otherwise noted, written and visual content produced by Real Issues Media is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution–NonCommercial–NoDerivatives 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0).

Reporting Unauthorized Use

If you believe our work has been copied, reposted, or used without proper attribution, please notify us at info@realhousingreform.org with:

  • The URL or copy of the infringing material

  • Your name and contact information

  • A short description of the infringement

We may pursue action under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) if necessary to protect our intellectual property.
